Dante Efore was the male District Seven Tribute for the First Quarter Quell.
Pre-Games Life Edit
According to Dante, he was selected for the Quell because he angered a group of mobsters by infiltrating them and bringing down their organization. In real life, he was selected for his pathological lying and general self-aggrandizing.
Games Description Edit
Arena: War-torn wasteland
Dante talked a big talk during training, but when the countdown began, he saw what the Games really were. When he saw Frankie Disney of District Eleven and Nero Augustus of District Two on either side of him, he wet his pants in fear. He fled during the Bloodbath, despite his earlier proclamations that he would run in and grab a weapon. He spent the first day of the Games wandering in terror until the night brought mutttation hounds that found and killed him.
Dante was one of a few Tributes that were voted into the Games not because of crimes or defects but simply because of how annoying they were. He constantly exaggerated or fabricated tales to make himself look good and was impossible to ignore with his loud voice and carrying laugh. He was a decent person at heart and never did anything to actually hurt anyone, but he was too odious for the citizens of Seven to bear.
- Dante is not the first person to wet his pants during the Games. It has happened at least once nearly every year since the first.
- Dante was the hellhounds' first victim.
- Recovering Dante's body was difficult, since the hounds consumed most of it. The scraps that remained were incinerated and sent home as ashes.
